Who we are
This is the privacy notice for Hidden Burnley, a private-hire event venue at 1 Cow Lane, Burnley, Lancashire BB11 1NN, United Kingdom. The data controller is Hidden Burnley Limited, registered in England and Wales as company number 15935313. You can reach us at hello@hiddenburnley.co.uk or 01282 902 604.
What we collect
When you contact us through the enquiry form, by email, or by phone, we collect the information you give us: typically your name, email address, phone number, event date, guest count, event type and any message you send. We use this only to reply to your enquiry and, if you go on to book, to run your event.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider Cloudflare may collect anonymised, aggregated traffic information for security and performance (Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and does not track individual users).
If we add Google Analytics 4 or Google Tag Manager (we may, after launch), we will set those tools to "denied" by default and only load them if you accept analytics cookies via the cookie banner. We do not sell or share your data.
How long we keep it
Enquiry data we keep for 24 months from your last contact with us, or for the lifetime of your booking plus 7 years if you become a customer (so we can answer questions about past events and meet our accounting obligations). After that we delete the records.
Cloudflare Web Analytics retains aggregated traffic data per Cloudflare's policy.
Cookies and similar
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies for the site to work (for example, the cookie banner's own preference cookie). These are exempt from the consent requirement.
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how the site is used. You can change your mind at any time via the cookie banner.
If we use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our enquiry form, Turnstile sets a short-lived cookie for fraud prevention. This is treated as strictly necessary because the form would not work without it.
See our cookies policy for the full list of cookies and what each one does.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us:
- what data we hold about you
- to correct any of it
- to delete it
- to limit how we use it
- to receive a copy of it in a portable format
- to object to our use of it
Email hello@hiddenburnley.co.uk and we will respond within one calendar month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Imagery
We sometimes use photographs of past events on our website, social media and marketing. If you appear in a photo and would like it removed, email hello@hiddenburnley.co.uk and we will take it down within 5 working days.
Some imagery on the site is reference-grounded AI-generated imagery: real photographs of the venue used as inputs, with decor and lighting changes only. These are labelled in context with a short caption near the affected imagery on each page that carries them, for example "Some images are reference-grounded renders based on photographs of the venue." Generated imagery is never used as a structured-data reference for the venue (per our PIPELINE policy).
Third parties we work with
When you submit an enquiry, the message is sent through Postmark (postmarkapp.com), our email service provider. Postmark processes the data only to deliver the email; it does not use it for any other purpose.
If you load the Google Maps embed on /find-us, Google sets cookies and may collect data per its own privacy policy.
Cloudflare hosts our site and provides DDoS protection and analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Substantive changes will be flagged on the home page for 30 days.
